Summer Movie Night series
Movie night at WIF! Doors open at 7PM. Movie will begin by 7:30.
TEN COMMANDMENTS Part 1 starring Charlton Heston & Yul Brenner.
This is one of the truly great films Hollywood ever produced. It includes Charlton Heston and Yul Brynner, two of of the best known actors of the era. The movie won an oscar for best special effects (done without computers, no less), and Charlton Heston won a Golden Globe for his performance. The movie is based around the story of the Jewish people being rescued from slavery in Egypt. The movie generally follows the account in the Bible, but the movie makers added a love story between Moses and an Egyptian princess that is woven into the movie.
The entire movie is about 4 hours long. When it was originally shown in theaters, there was an intermission. We will show the movie in two parts.
Note: There will be no ESL and American culture classes during the summer. Instead we will have Wednesday movie night.
The Wednesday English Second Language and American Culture classes will resume Wednesday September 8th at the North Avenue Church.
Registration and placement will be August 25th and September 1, 2010.
